Grades 9th through 12th
The Youth of Unity group is a very active ministry. Teens usually gather on Sundays to explore and discover spiritual truths and learn how they relate to their lives. The Unity of Richmond chapter meets at other times to do service in their church community, have a social event, or attend regional or international events.
Curriculum: “The I of the Storm for Teens — Finding Peace in the Midst of Conflict”
This curriculum in book form was written to share the principles taught by Gary Simmons in his book, I of the Storm: Embracing Conflict, Creating Peace. Using various actives, such as bonding activities, partner-sharing, triads, discussion, journaling, creative expression, music, prayer and meditation, we focus on demonstrating the Unity principles in daily life.
Fantastic teachers are: Maureen Anderson, Scott Johns, Todd Correa and Mary Beth Holtzman.
Y.O.U. activities include:
• Teen Sunday (Leadership during worship services on 5th Sundays)
• Car wash fundraisers
• Teen coffeehouses
• YOU Rallies (out-of-town gatherings with YOUers from other churches)
• Service opportunities
