Opportunities for Transformation and Growth
Unity of Richmond is a dynamic multicultural center that fosters personal spiritual growth. In addition to regular programs, ministers offer transformational opportunities of Spirit, Soul and Body through Spiritual Counseling and Spiritual Coaching.
The mission of spiritual counseling is to prayerfully support you in the midst of challenging life circumstances and gently empower you to turn within to discover your own inner divine guidance. This quiet setting provides the opportunity for healing of emotional, mental, financial and/or spiritual issues. Generally, counseling is provided up to three sessions.
If there are long-term issues requiring ongoing support from a mental health professional, our ministers will provide names and phone numbers of referrals in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area while continuing to support you in prayer.
The mission of Spiritual Coaching is to promote a life transformation through a shift in perception. Your ministers can support you as you clarify life areas where you wish to experience significant life changes and set authentic action steps to achieve these changes. The number of coaching sessions may be determined by you and your minister.
Coaching areas you may wish to explore are:
- Being open to new life possibilities
- Creating healthy relationships
- Developing new life goals
- Restoring order and balance to your life
- Fulfilling a lifelong dream
Typically, counseling and coaching sessions generally last 45 minutes to one hour. At the conclusion of each counseling and/or coaching session, you are welcome to sit in the sanctuary for prayer, meditation and journaling for as long as you wish. There are envelopes in the back of every seat. All sessions are offered on a love-offering basis. You may leave your love offering in the administrative office or with the ministers.
Your ministers are to keep whatever has transpired between you in the strictest of confidence unless you designate otherwise, except when mandated by state law to report the possibility of imminent danger to oneself and/or others, suspicion of child abuse and/or elder abuse.
