The Power of Prayer

Prayer is an opportunity to experience God in the midst of our busy daily lives. Prayer consists of relaxation, concentration, meditation, realization and thanksgiving. As we release our fears and concerns we are able to experience the love, life and vitality of the Kingdom of God. In this kingdom we are comforted, revived and strengthened. In this kingdom our lives are transformed as we choose to change our perception and be transformed by the renewing power of Spirit.

Unity is a ministry founded on the power of prayer. It was through prayer that our co-founders, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, received significant and seemingly miraculous healings. Prayer always has been central to Unity and to our ministry at Unity of Richmond.

If you are experiencing circumstances in your life, or in the life of a loved one, that requires prayer support, please complete a confidential online prayer request now or fill out a prayer request any Sunday during our service, and we will add you to our prayer list.

Unity of Richmond’s Prayer Chaplains offer confidential one-on-one prayer after Sunday services or at any other time it is requested.

Prayer Request

The Prayer for Protection

The light of God surrounds me;
The love of God enfolds me;
The power of God protects me;
The presence of God watches over me.
Wherever I am, God is!

“Beloved, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours.”
– Mark 11:24

The Prayer of Faith

God is my help in every need; God does my hunger feed;
God walks beside me, guides my way
through every moment of the day.
I now am wise, I now am true,
patient, kind and loving, too.
All things I am, can do, and be,
through Christ, the Truth that is in me.
God is my strength, unfailing quick;
God is my all; I know no fear.
Since God and Love and Truth are here.
